  • Operation Christmas Child

    Hey church family!

Last Sunday, I announced that boxes for Operation Christmas Child would be accepted until Monday, November 27th. I was incorrect! Boxes can only be dropped off at LCF up until 11:00 A.M. this upcoming Monday morning, Nov. 20th. I'm really sorry for how last minute this is for those who are planning to shop and complete boxes. I will post another reminder on Saturday

  • Pray

    Hey church family,

I'm sure many of you, like our family, are watching the hurricane ripping through the Caribbean on its way to the Southeastern US. My brother and his finance are down there. The Thurlows have family down there, as well as the Susans, Bruce and Julie, and many others.

First and foremost, let's continue praying (see Acts 27), asking God for specific protection. Of course, this is not limited to Hurricane Irma, but Harvey, the fires on the West Coast, etc. If you have family and friends that you would like prayer for, please leave a comment and I - and many others - will continue to pray for them.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." (2 Cor. 4:16-18)

We may have the opportunity to help those around us, especially those who do not know Jesus Christ, to see past the fragility of this world to the unshakeable kingdom of our Savior!

  • Upcoming Events

    Hey church,

Couple of updates on upcoming events! Great chance to pray too!
Sunday, September 10th: King's Kids starts! Erica Lazo informed me that they are still looking for some older kids (even high-school age) to help out. Please contact Erica Lazo or Erica Whitney for more details.

Wednesday, September 13th, 6 PM: Join us for our midweek service - Andrew Jipson will be teaching! Nursery will be open for this service.

Sunday, September 17th, 10 AM: Join us for our Sunday morning service - Jeff Wong, from Resting Arms Ministries up in Island Falls, will be teaching and sharing about the amazing things the Lord has accomplished in the lives of many formerly addicted to drugs and alcohol. Can't wait! Use this as an opportunity for outreach - most of us know someone who is trapped and enslaved by addiction and needs the Cure - Jesus Christ!

Immediately following the service, we will be having a pot-luck from 11:45 - 1:30. If attending, please bring a dish to share...if you can't, or forget, please just come! As a reminder, we don't have a stove to reheat food at the church.

Sunday, September 24th, after service: Men are invited to stay and help remove the old play-set out back. We will also be laying and leveling pea-stone as a new ground covering for new play equipment, which has yet to be assembled. Thanks!

God bless you guys and you go through another week!

  • CM Meeting

    Hey Church Family,

Just wanted to remind Children's Ministry (CM) workers that there will be a brief meeting this Sunday. We have changed the timing of the meeting from after service to during service just after announcements. This should enable us to have the greatest opportunity to listen without distraction.

Some adults and teens will miss the meeting due to them loving on our kids in CM or being in class themselves... there will be a printed handout covering the details mentioned during our meeting along with a thank-you card for everyone currently serving!

We will have a table set up with all of the thank-you cards and handouts. Please read and reread this handout! Our hope is that it would encourage you, be a resource for you, and a reminder of what 1 Cor. 15:58 says to us... " [to be] steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

Truly, our greatest hope for all our kids is that their eyes would be "opened to the astonishing truth that our relationship with God does not depend upon the puny pebble of our own efforts but upon the MASSIVE ROCK of his unchanging and loving character... (Chuck Smith - Grace Changes Everything)"

    Love, Sam and Jess

  • Hey Church Family

    Hey Church family,

Thanks so much for praying for our family, your continued prayers for Scout Fleming, and for the many others in our fellowship and beyond that are sick, recovering, or struggling in other ways.

My family, including me, will not be at LCF tomorrow due to sickness. We are improving, thank God! Bob Leighton will be teaching at tomorrow morning's service.

We are going to postpone the CM meeting that was supposed to be after church tomorrow. There are just too many people sick. Please understand the freedom and grace we have in Jesus to stay home and rest if you - or anyone in your family - is still struggling or symptomatic.

My hope is that we can accomplish some cleaning/sanitizing/disinfecting at church this week (any volunteers? Contact my wife, Jess!) I am looking forward to the amazing time we will have next sunday worshipping our Redeemer together!

  • Midweek Cancelled.

    Hey Church,

Our midweek church service tonight is CANCELLED.

I really do hate to cancel, but I believe that I should. Safety, of course, is part of the concern. But I also want to give people the opportunity to do practical ministry today and through tonight. Help your neighbors, shovel their roof, take care of your own place and enjoy a snowy night with your kids, family, and spouse. Be "sober-minded" with your eyes open to the needs around you. What could the Lord do through us?

"And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful." Titus 3:14

Hopefully, we won't get as much snow as is forecasted.

  • Friday Prayer

    Hey Church!

Just a reminder that Jess and I will not be having prayer at our house in Lincoln tomorrow night. We're off to Bangor on a date! Thanks Papa and Mimi!
Thank you to all of you who are diligently praying, whether that be with us or in your own homes!

“Frequently complaints are made and surprise expressed by individuals who have never found a blessing rest upon anything they have attempted to do in the service of God. ‘I have been a Sunday-school teacher for years,’ says one, ‘and I have never seen any of my girls or boys converted.’ No, and the reason most likely is you have never been violent about it; you have never been compelled by the Divine Spirit to make up your mind that converted they should be, and no stone should be left unturned until they were. You have never been brought by the Spirit to such a passion, that you have said, ‘I cannot live unless God bless me. I cannot exist unless I see some of these children saved.’ Then, falling on your knees in agony of prayer, and putting forth afterwards your trust with the same intensity towards heaven, you would never have been disappointed, ‘for the violent take it by force.'” - Spurgeon

This was personally shared with me this week: what a great reminder to me. God hears, responds to, and desires to be sought in prayer.
How amazing that we can talk with God?
